
ABIODUN ADENIYI AKANMU
A broadcast Journalist by profession but a total theatre
personality by training, with experience
spanning over a decade in broadcast Journalism.
Abiodun is well versed in editorial and reporting aspect of
Journalism. As a senior news editor, he has
carved a niche for himself by dint of hard-work
and precise journalistic judgment, Abiodun
remains one of the most reliable hands on the
desk.
As a reporter, he has field several reports for NTA NETWORK
NEWS, NEWSLINE, AM EXPRESS and covered
international assignments as a cameraman.
His is a regular face on the NTA NETWORK NEWS as a
newscaster and equally presents PANORAMA also on
the network service of NTA, He is currently the
presenter of the programme 7 point Agenda and at
different times presented CORRIDORS both on NTA
Lagos Channel 10.
Apart from the robust experience in Journalism, Abiodun is
a lover and practitioner of the Performing Arts.
With a background in the Performing Arts from
the University of Ilorin, he’s been able to
exploit to the fullest his creative instinct to
bring to bear on his practice as a Journalist.
He has played lead role in over 25 stage plays thereby
making him a staunch advocate of the stage. He
directed the play THE BOLD CHOICE by Professor
Akanji Nasru for his final year project and
several other short plays. He was member of the
University of Ilorin choir and had featured in
many operas. He led the Lagos State NYSC Drama
Group to the Zonal and National Competitions in
the year 2000.
Abiodun is a dance aficionado, Director, Actor, Singer,
News producers, Scriptwriter, Cameraman and News
Editor. He is a recipient of many awards in both
Journalism and the Theater Arts.
He won the BEST ACTOR award of the Performing Arts Student
Association (PASA), 1999,

Abiodun is an active member of the Nigerian union of
Journalists, NUJ. He presently the secretary of
the union in NTA Lagos. He also belongs to the
Lions club, NTA Lagos.
His ambition is to go into academics to impact knowledge in
the areas of media and the Performing Arts.
Abiodun is happily married with children. |
